MOUNDS, Ill. -- James Robert Jump Sr., 62, of Route 1, Mounds, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at Mounds.
He was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Mound City, Ill., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jump.
He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the Korean War.
Jump was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean (Holderfield) Jump, on Dec. 6, 1988.
Survivors include a son, James Robert Jump Jr., of Hillsboro, Ill.; four daughters, Theresa Huff, Troy, Ill., Mona Lee McElvain, Pocahontas, Ill., Paula Marie Kline, Granite City, Ill., and Traci Jean Ernest, Hillsboro, Ill.; one sister, Toni Barnhart of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, LaVonne Whittaker of Mounds.
Private visitation for the family will be conducted this morning at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with cremation to follow. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
