COBDEN, Ill. -- James J. Brasel, 88, of Cobden, Ill., died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at City Care Center.
He was born Sept. 5, 1910, at Cobden, son of Charles and Mary Hartley Brasel. He and Greta Rawlings were married May 18, 1935. She died Nov. 22, 1991.
Brasel was a farmer. He was a member of Union Lodge 627 AF&AM at Lick Creek and Anna OES Chapter 522.
Survivors include three sisters, Rosa Carter of Buncombe, Florence Bartruff of Anna and Ruby Yates of Cobden.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Lick Creek Lodge 627 AF&AM.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Mixen officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
