James Edward Hurt, 20, 121 E. Rodney, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at his home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1976, in Westminster, Calif., son of James Earl Chappel and Saundra Kay Givens.
Hurt attended Parkview State School.
Survivors include his mother, Saundra Hurt of Cape Girardeau; his father of Sikeston; a brother, Richard Hurt of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Kimberly Hurt of Cape Girardeau; two stepbrothers, Ricky and Billie Chappel of Sikeston; four stepsisters, Jane, Janet, Kim and Nancy Chappel of Sikeston; and maternal grandmother, Georgia Wimmer of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
