SIKESTON -- James Hart, 78, of Sikeston died Friday, May 1, 1998, at his home.
He was born on June 5, 1919, at Gray Ridge, son of Henry and Berta Smith Hart.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He worked at the International Shoe factory before retiring.
Survivors include two sons, James Edward Hart of Bridgeton and Larry W. Hart of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Glenda Jean Gibson of Bridgeton; three sisters, Maggie Hart Bartholomew of Sikeston and Thelma Robbins and Helen Call of Portageville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the Sikeston Community Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
