James M. Harris, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Interstate 57 at Buckley, Ill.
He was born April 10, 1920, at Grand Chain, Ill., son of Mark and Nettie Barnett Harris. He married Essie Berry; she died May 11, 2004.
Harris was a retired truck driver for Wykoff Steel in Chicago Ill. He was an associate pastor for New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include six sons, Vincent L. Harris and David J. Harris of Chicago, Ill., Mackey M. Harris and Marvin E. Harris of Minneapolis, Minn., James C. Harris of Palmdale, Calif., Erick Harris of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tiffany Harris of Cape Girardeau; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at Greater Dimension Church of God in Christ in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greater Dimension Church of God in Christ, with Bishop William Bird officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be at Fairmont Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
