SIKESTON -- James Harlie McGill, 90, of Sikeston died Sunday, Feb. 3, 1991, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born June 17, 1900 in McLeansboro, Ill., the son of John Featherston and Laura Anne Vickers McGill.
He worked as a carpenter for the Tramell Lumber Company of Dexter and for the Coffee Lumber Company, also of Dexter.
He is a member of North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the Men's Bible Class.
On April 14, 1928, in Benton he married Thelma Z. Overbey McGill. She survives.
In addition, he is survived by one son, Charles McGill, Sikeston; two daughters, Romona Masters, Sikeston, Frona Sturgeon, Chino, Calif.; one brother, Charlie McGill, Broughton, Ill.; three sisters, Jesse Foster, Bell City, Bertha Reed, Bellevue, Wash., Wilma Cunningham, Albuquerque N.M.; nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Nathan Greene, pastor of North Acres General Baptist Church and the Rev. Ernest Elledge, of Sikeston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Advance.
