POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- James Harrison Green, 88, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1915, in Brownfield, Ill., son of Charles Harrison and Iris Ethel Reedus Green. He and Gertie Inez Blagg were married Aug. 12, 1939, at Benton, Mo. She died Jan. 29, 1980.
Green had been a self-employed industrial painting contractor. He was a member of Toledo Bend Church of Christ in Many, La.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son, James Green Jr. of Lady Lake, Fla.; three daughters, Sherry Heuiser of Poplar Bluff, Shirley Jones of Benton, Ky., Tonaleah Cooper of Sikeston, Mo.; a sister, Charity Shaw of Rock Springs, Wyo.; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, and three sisters.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by Missouri Honors Program.
