CHAFFEE -- James "Buck" Foeste, 70, of Chaffee died Friday, Jan. 10, 1992, at his home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1921 in Cape Girardeau, the son of Fred and Callie Barnes Foeste.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1964 after 22 years of service. He served during World War II and the Korean War.
After his retirement, he moved back to Chaffee and worked as a city park superintendent. He retired in December 1990.
He was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127, Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810, Chaffee American Legion Post 389, and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Alotta Temple in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He also served many years with the Missouri Babe Ruth Baseball Association.
On Nov. 29, 1947, he married the former Mildred Howarth. She survives.
In addition, he is survived by two sons, Steven Foeste, Cape Girardeau, James "Kimo" Foeste, Chaffee; one daughter, Pamela Foeste, Chaffee; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call today until 2 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Charley Shrum officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
