MINER -- James Edgar Sexton, 71, of Miner died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at the Miner Nursing Center. He was born March 18, 1928, at Sikeston, son of Willard and Lola Smith Jines. He graduated from Sikeston High School in 1946. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sikeston Elks. During the 1950s, he worked as a salesman for Colp Lumber Co. He was manager for Mechanical Systems Inc. during the 1970s and had worked with Bob Hale Auction Co...

MINER -- James Edgar Sexton, 71, of Miner died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at the Miner Nursing Center.

He was born March 18, 1928, at Sikeston, son of Willard and Lola Smith Jines.

He graduated from Sikeston High School in 1946. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sikeston Elks. During the 1950s, he worked as a salesman for Colp Lumber Co. He was manager for Mechanical Systems Inc. during the 1970s and had worked with Bob Hale Auction Co.

Besides his father, he is survived by two aunts, Vernetta Williams of Sikeston and Mary Masters of East Prairie.

No visitation or services are planned. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel of Sikeston handled the arrangements.
