CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral service for James Edward McKenna III of Cairo will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Cairo High School gymnasium. Burial will be in Lower Salem Cemetery in Massac County.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Thursday, and after noon Friday at the school.
McKenna, 48, died Monday, April 24, 1995, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.
He was born May 11, 1946, in Detroit, Mich., son of James Edward and Laverne Marie Singelton McKenna II. He married the former Vicki Cram.
McKenna was a detective sergeant with Cairo Police Department. He was a member of the 8th Illinois Re-enactment Group.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, William McKenna of Detroit, Mich., John and Troy McNeely of Grantsburg; two daughters, Faith McKenna of Lafayette, Ga., Lisa McNeely of Grantsburg; two brothers, Tom McKenna of California, Bob McKenna of St. Louis; a sister, Muriel McKenna of California, and four grandchildren.
