James D. Dodd, 2107 Woodhaven, owner and operator of Motorcycle Stuff, died Thursday, July 23, 1992, in an airplane crash in West Cocalico Township, Pa. He was 50 years old.
He was born July 23, 1942, in St. Louis, son of Leonard and Mary Brasure Dodd. He and Susan Myklebust were married Feb. 19, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Dodd was reared in Crystal City, and graduated from Drake University in Des Moines. He was an Eagle Scout.
He worked in a Ford Motor office in Des Moines two years, and then owned a Ford dealership in Lexington four years. He started the local motorcycle business, a national distributor for motorcycle parts, while in Lexington.
Dodd moved to Cape Girardeau in 1974. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Cape Pilots Club, Missouri State Motorcycle Dealers Association, Southeast Missouri State University Boosters Club, and Copper Dome Society.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tim and John Dodd of Cape Girardeau; his father of Plainsboro, N.J.; a brother, David Dodd of Plainsboro, and a grandchild.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
