James E. "Jim" Crites, 58, of Jackson passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 12, 1961, in Cape Girardeau to Carroll and Sylvia "Bea" Moore Crites. He was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.
He worked nearly 25 years for the City of Cape Girardeau, at the Cape Jaycee Golf Course and Fairmount/Lorimier cemeteries.
Loving survivors include his life partner, Rick Hartle of Jackson; a daughter, Emily Hartle-Tripp of Jackson; three grandchildren, Caleb Hartle, Shawn Hamm and Ronnie Rachelle Hamm; two sisters, Deanna (Mark) Whittaker of Zalma, Missouri, and children Kyler, Andrew and Adrian, and Shelley (the late James) Piekert of Des Arc, Missouri, and children Tyla, Shawna and Levi; his foster mom, Carol Smith of Cape Girardeau; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives on Rick's side of the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sarah Hartle-Hamm; and Rick's parents, Les and Vi Hartle.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
