ADVANCE -- James C. Richmond, 63, of Phayao, Thailand, formerly of Advance, died July 24, 1991, at the Phan Hospital in Phayao. He was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Advance, son of Carl and Grace Jenkins Richmond. He was owner of Richmond Hardware and Lumber Company in Puxico. ADVANCE -- James C. Richmond, 63, of Phayao, Thailand, formerly of Advance, died July 24, 1991, at the Phan Hospital in Phayao.

He was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Advance, son of Carl and Grace Jenkins Richmond.

He was owner of Richmond Hardware and Lumber Company in Puxico. In 1986, he joined the Peace Corps and moved to Thailand.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Puxico.

Survivors are his wife and child of Phayao, whose names were unavailable; four sons, Brad Richmond, Toronto, Canada, Larry Anthony, Sikeston, Ron Anthony, Fayetteville, Ark. and Scott Anthony, Advance; two daughters, Amy Richmond, Tecumseh, and Kathy Crist, Chillicothe, Ohio; two sisters, Grace Hoover and Sue Burford of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Carl Richmond, Salt Lake City, Utah, Mark Richmond, Advance, and Bill Richmond, Cape Girardeau; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Puxico with the Rev. Tom Statler officiating.
