James C. Marshall, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services. James C. Marshall, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services.

He was born June 28, 1918, at Murray, Ky., son of Clarence Tilden Marshall and Jewell Deason Marshall.

He married Rosemary Barbara Guerrettaz on June 28, 1939, at East St. Louis, Ill. She survives.

He served in the Navy during World War II as storekeeper first class.

He worked in sales until his retirement. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau and a member of the church's men's club.

He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Harrison of Cape Girardeau and Suzanne Schwartz of Jasper, Texas; and a sister, Pat Blankenship of Sugar Loaf, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton F. Ryan officiating. Visitation will follow from 3 to 5 o'clock at the church.

His body will be donated to the anatomy and neurobiology department at St. Louis University.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
