JAMES C. EVANS SR.

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for James C. Evans Sr. of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Dolan Rogers and C.D. Lynch will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Evans, 64, died Thursday, March 24, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 5, 1929, at Bloomfield, son of Roy V. and Frances Yeakey Evans. He and Geraldine M. Compas were married May 15, 1948, at Benton. She died Oct. 26, 1986.

Evans was a retired farmer, and member of New Savannah Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Roy and Alan Evans of Benton, J.C. Evans of Sikeston; a daughter, Melinda Evans of Sikeston; his mother of Sikeston; two brothers, Norman and Tommy Evans of Sikeston; a sister, Carolyn Duff of Sikeston, and nine grandchildren.
