ANNA, Ill. -- James Edward Browning, 70, of Anna died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.
He was born Jan. 18, 1931, at Alto Pass, Ill., son of Anthony Graydon and Flora Ruth Gore Browning. He and Janet Dee Aldridge were married Nov. 4, 1950, at Piggott, Ark.
Browning was a retired 21-year veteran of the Air Force, and a member of First Baptist Church in Cobden, Ill. He was also a member of American Legion Post 259, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455, the National DAV, and AMVETS.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Janell Farris, Jenan Ulrich and Rebecca Stone, all of Anna, Jennifer "Dolly" Cain and Susan Stadelbacher of Cobden; two sisters, Louine Friese of Sidney, Ill., Elizabeth Aldridge of Cobden; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Dewayne Taylor and Daryl Varble will officiate, with burial in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Military honors will be presented at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post and American Legion Post.
