CENTERTOWN, Mo. -- James Marion Biggs, 74, of Centertown, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at his home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Burkley, Ky., son of William Marion Biggs and Mary Isabelle Brock Biggs. He and Sharon Ann Pinner were married March 17, 1971, at Salem, Mo.
He attended Scott City schools. He owned Biggs Petroleum Maintenance Company until his retirement in 1992. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers Association.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosemary Prenger of Wardsville, Mo., Sharon M. Biggs of Jefferson City, Mo., and Terry Becker of Troy, Mo.; two sons, James I. Biggs of Versailles, Mo., and Mark Biggs of Jefferson City; four sisters, Laura Sturm, Estella Gray, Edna Ramsey and Shirley Kinder, all of Scott City; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son.
Friends may call at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Gorhman officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Centertown Cemetery at Centertown.
