GLENALLEN, Mo. -- James "Zak" Barker, 21, of Norfolk Naval Base, Va., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005. He was formerly of Glenallen.
He was born Dec. 10, 1983, at Incirlik Air Force Base, Turkey, son of James Sheldon and Robin Elaine Fox Barker.
Barker was serving aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, where he was an operations specialist and was training to be a radar operator. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Daniel Barker; a sister, Ryan Barker; paternal grandfather, Clinton Barker; paternal grandmother, Ruth Barker; and paternal great-grandmother, Bertha Barker, all of Glenallen.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Eddie Long and Randy Poole officiating. Burial will be in Barker Family Cemetery near Glenallen, with full military honors.
