CAIRO, Ill. -- James L. Ballentine, 64, of Cairo died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at the home of his sister and caregiver in Hodges Park, Ill.
He was born Nov. 9, 1942, son of Joe Willie and Isola Batts Ballentine.
Ballentine moved back to Southern Illinois in 1975 and later became employed at Burkart Foam Plant.
Survivors include two children; three sisters, Catherine Oats of Hodges Park, Sharon Tyler of St. Louis, Glenda Ballentine of Thebes; and a brother, Leorval Hayes of Murphysboro, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
The funeral will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Garlin White officiating. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery.
