James Andy Baker, 85, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 14, 1918, at Clines Island, Mo., son of James and Lottie Curd Baker. He and Mildred Evans were married April 14, 1949.
Baker was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Clines Island General Baptist Church, the Sikeston Lodge 310 AF&AM and Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114. He worked as assistant foreman at Himmelburger-Harrison until he retired in 1977.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from noon until time of service Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home at Sikeston.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Dr. Rick Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley, Mo.
