LIBERAL, Kan. — James "Jim" Amann, 81, formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at his residence in Liberal.
He was born May 3, 1927, in Milwaukee, son of Arthur Ethan and Lillian (Kress) Luedtke. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Ludwig Amann. He and Bernice Mary Mackin were married July 17, 1948, in Milwaukee.
He was a self-employed master plumber. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James L. Amann of Cape Girardeau and Bruce D. Amann of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Robin Rae Pond of Liberal and Tammi Jayne Dreisbach of Greenville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A private family service was held.
