JAMES A. TOOMBS

MARBLE HILL -- James A. Toombs, 54, of Marble Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1992, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1937 at Qulin, son of James and Evia King Toombs.

He was married on April 24, 1964 to Ruby Wilfong. She survives.

He worked in the timber industry.

Surviving, besides his wife, are five sons, Roger, Jerry, Alfred and Terry Toombs, all of Marble Hill, and Bobby Toombs of Glen Allen; three daughters, Joyce Highfiell of the state of Iowa, and Cindy Toombs and Patty Massa, both of Marble Hill; one brother, Willis Toombs of Marble Hill; and eight grandchildren.

Two daughters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 5:30 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Liley Chapel with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Hiram.
