MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Jake Pecord, 16, of Miller City died Friday, July 6, 2007, in a vehicle accident in Miller City. MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Jake Pecord, 16, of Miller City died Friday, July 6, 2007, in a vehicle accident in Miller City.

He was born Sept. 6, 1990, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jerry A. and Cacey Williams Pecord.

He was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a student at Central High School in Cape Girardeau, where he was active in FBLA, having recently received national recognition for his work with computers.

He worked on the family farm in Miller City, where he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fourwheeling, hunting, camping and hanging out with friends.

Besides enjoying working with computers he was an avid bowler in a youth league in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Cacey Pecord of Miller City; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Jo Williams of Bloomington, Ill.; two brothers, Sean and Wade Pecord of Miller City; three sisters, Sarah, Savannah and Summer Pecord of Miller City.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Burial will be in Bumgard Cemetery in Miller City.

Jake's family takes comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord.
