EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Jake Johnson, 16, of Mandeville, La., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, La. EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Jake Johnson, 16, of Mandeville, La., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, La.

He was born Nov. 19, 1986, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Timothy Lee Johnson and Nicka O'Connor Gorostiza.

Johnson had lived in Mandeville five years and was a sophomore at Mandeville High School.

Survivors include his father of Mandeville; his mother of East Prairie; a brother, Derric Johnson of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Kristin Padgett of Aurora, Colo.; paternal grandmother, Mary Johnson of East Prairie; and maternal grandparents, Dixie and Kenny Counts of East Prairie.

He was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandfathers.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Martin Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
