Jackie Sims Todd, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Grenada, Mississippi, to Abbie and Onice Clyde Sims Todd. He and Marie Ella Lasseigne were married Feb. 16, 1961, in Norco, Louisiana.

He served in the Army and Air Force. He retired from Procter & Gamble after 30 years. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and its Men's Association, where he served as head usher. He was recognized for his outstanding and dedicated service with the Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department and Foundation boards. He was a master gardener, and enjoyed coaching little-league sports. He volunteered countless hours at Notre Dame and St. Vincent's Elementary.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; children, Abby (Joe) Popp, Eddy Todd and Joy (Scott) Burnette, all of Cape Girardeau, and Jay (Gina) Todd of St. Louis; siblings, Juanita Black, Peggy (Ed) Andrie, Bill Todd and James (Joyce) Todd; grandchildren, Jackie (Chris) McAllister, Jessie (Ben) Vinyard, Rikki and William Popp, Camille, Nick, Michael, Samantha and Seth Todd and Alexis (Austin) Graham; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Courtney, Lily, Elliot and Mariella.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby and Gayle Todd; and grandchild, Bradley.

The family would like to thank the Veterans Home Alzheimer's Wing, Saint Francis Hospice and Sarah for the loving care they extended.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with Father Rick Jones and Deacon Rob Huff officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran Family and Children Services or the Missouri Veterans Home.
