Jacqueline S. "Jackie" Strack, 73, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, the only child to Louis A. and Georgia Burns Kasten. She and Robert "Bob" Strack were married Feb. 14, 1954. They were married 51 years when he passed away May 16, 2005.

Jackie's family and friends will remember her as an "all-around" Jackson person and an avid Jackson sports fan. She was an eighth-grade carnival queen. In high school, she was the drum majorette of the band and also was the Silver Arrow Queen of her 1953 graduating class.

After her three girls were all in school, she drove a school bus 33 years for Jackson School District and began attending the sport competitions she so much enjoyed.

Jackie was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in Bible study. She played in the former Lutheran women's softball league, formerly coached girls' softball in Jackson and was previously active in a women's card club.

Loving survivors include her mother, Georgia Kasten of Jackson; three daughters, Beverly (Larry) Byrd and son Dylan of Cordova, Tenn., Mary Lowry and daughters Amanda, Lynsey, and Rachel of Jackson, Alicia (Tony) Jaco and sons Tyler Trierweiler and Matthew Jaco of Jackson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran School or Church, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or American Cancer Society.
