JACKSON -- Jackie Wayne "Puncho" Mayberry, 37, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Saturday, Feb. 29, 1992, in a car accident in Vancleave, Miss.

He was born June 11, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of Earnest and Helen Bowers Mayberry.

Mayberry was employed at South Wind Country Club, where he was a member. He served in the National Guard from 1981-87.

Survivors include his parents of Jackson; five brothers, Ronald and Donald Mayberry of Cape Girardeau, Jimmy and Leroy Mayberry of Ocean Springs, Steve Mayberry of Rossville, Kan.; five sisters, Janet Woods of Old Appleton, Debra Mayberry of Long Beach, Miss., Peggy Hendrix and Rosemary Klipfel of Topeka, Kan., Barbara Perr of Jackson, and maternal grandmother, Mary Bowers of Jackson.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jack Cathcart will officiate, with burial in Caney Fork Cemetery near Jackson.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today.
