JACKSON -- Jackie Lee McCain, 45, died at the John Cochran Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Louis Monday, March 30, 1992.
McCain, of Pevely, was born Aug. 15, 1946 at Cape Girardeau, son of Jackie Earnest McCain and Dorothy Mae Stanley McCain.
He is survived by his father, Jackie McCain, and step-mother, Vivian McCain, of Anchorage, Alaska; mother and stepfather, Dorothy Von Schlutter and Charles Von Schlutter Sr.; a foster son, Duane Kimbriel of Orlando, Fla.; three stepbrothers, Charles Van Schlutter, Lexington, Ky.; David Van Schlutter, Orlando and David Patterson of Kenai, Alaska.; a brother, Gilbert E. McCain. of Tinley Park, Ill.; sister, Barbara McCain, Burbank, Ill.; two stepsisters, Jane Pringle of Worth, Ill., and Elizabeth Patterson of Kenai, Alaska.; and one foster grandson.
McCain was active in the ROTC. He served in the Marines from 1966 to 1972. He was a motel and restaurant manager until 1980 when he became disabled. He was a member of the DAV.
Service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Tankersley officiating. Burial will be in Apple Creek Cemetery at Pocahontas.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
