Jackie Atwood

ANNA, Ill. -- Jackie Dean Atwood, 69, of Anna died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at his home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Marion, Ill., son of Roger Lee and Margaret Marie Simmons Atwood. He and Emilie M. Ulrich were married May 14, 1957, in Elgin, Ill.

Atwood was a self-employed barber.

He was a U.S. veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Thomas Atwood of Los Lunas, N.M., Scott Atwood of Gambrills, Md., Edward Atwood of Murphysboro, Ill.; a sister, Veneta Brys of Anna; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother and a sister.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion, with the Rev. Gene Hart officiating.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
