ST. LOUIS -- Jack L. Priest, 87, of St. Louis passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016. He was born March 25, 1929, to Erna L. Wessel Stone and Charles Priest in Gordonville. He married Marjorie A. Segraves in April 1951, and she preceded him in death. Jack retired as a surveyor from St. Louis County in 1995. Throughout the years, he also tended bar at the Bulls & the Bears, Oliver's and Hilary's, where he never served a stranger. He was known as a man who loved life and his family...

ST. LOUIS -- Jack L. Priest, 87, of St. Louis passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

He was born March 25, 1929, to Erna L. Wessel Stone and Charles Priest in Gordonville. He married Marjorie A. Segraves in April 1951, and she preceded him in death.

Jack retired as a surveyor from St. Louis County in 1995. Throughout the years, he also tended bar at the Bulls & the Bears, Oliver's and Hilary's, where he never served a stranger. He was known as a man who loved life and his family.

He is survived by five children, Barbara A. Maugeri, John Michael Priest, Kimberly J. (Jeff) Stahnke, Terri L. (George) Neuman and Matthew K. Priest; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are a sister, Mary L. Helbig of Fenton, Missouri; brothers C. Donald Priest and Jerry Priest, both of Cape Girardeau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the activity program at Mackenzie Place, 8520 Mackenzie Road, St. Louis, MO 63123, or the performance of a random act of kindness in Jack's memory.
