JACKSON -- Jack King, 74, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 13, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 20, 1921, at Cape Girardeau, son of Noah and Mary Pinkston King. He and Louise Howard were married Dec. 6, 1943. She died Oct. 25, 1986.

King worked at the International Shoe Factory in Jackson for 37 years. He retired in 1984. He also operated Jack's TV out of his home for many years and was a World War II veteran. King was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Survivors are three sons, Jessie King of Belleville, Ill., Jackie King of Dothan, Ala., and Jimmy King of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dennis King of Watertown, Tenn., and Woodrow King of Jackson; five half-brothers, Leo, J.D., and Tommy King, all of Cape Girardeau, and Lyman and Gene King, both of Jackson; a half-sister, Carol Slusher of Parker, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jim Raney will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
