ADVANCE, Mo. -- Jack Junior Brown, 86, of Advance passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at his home. Jack was born June 8, 1932, at Advance the son of Jack A. and Thelma Bagbey Brown. Jack was united in marriage to Marlene Clark Brown on Aug. 30, 1953, in San Diego, and she preceded him in death May 3, 2002...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Jack Junior Brown, 86, of Advance passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at his home.

Jack was born June 8, 1932, at Advance the son of Jack A. and Thelma Bagbey Brown. Jack was united in marriage to Marlene Clark Brown on Aug. 30, 1953, in San Diego, and she preceded him in death May 3, 2002.

Jack grew up in Advance until joining the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in San Diego and served during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for the California Highway Patrol for 33 years. He earned the rank of lieutenant and retired in 1992. Upon his retirement, he returned to his boyhood town after 42 years, with his wife, Marlene, to build her dream home.

Jack was a man of strong faith. He served his family and his church faithfully for many years. He raised his children to love and honor God.

Survivors include his stepmother, Lela Brown of Advance; a brother, Warren (Carol) Brown of Jerseyville, Illinois; a daughter, Terry (Wayne) Schleiger of Temecula, California; two sons, Rick (Tammy) Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, and Matt (Becky) Brown of Beaumont, California; six grandchildren, Brett (Nicole), Tawney (Francisco), Courtney (Nick), Casey, Bradyn and Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Brock, Jordyn, Logan, Eden, Cozette, and Ezrat Liam.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Brown; his parents; an uncle, Verman; and aunt, Esther.

Jack's surviving children and their spouses look forward to seeing their parents in Heaven someday.
