DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Jack L. Blattner passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, in Dardenne Prairie.

He was the beloved husband of Lucille E. Tebbenhoff Blattner; dearest father of James A. Blattner of Salem, Wisconsin, Jack F. Blattner of O'Fallon, Missouri, Ellen C. Shelton of O'Fallon, Elaine L. (Skip) Seidel-Scott of St. Charles, Missouri, and Jeffrey L. (Tiffany) Blattner of Warrenton, Missouri; loving grandfather of Candace M. (Dustin) Tallisman of Illinois, Jaclyn C. "Jacy" (Marco) Matamoros of Texas, Bradley S. Seidel of Kansas, James M. Seidel of Missouri, Thomas B. Seidel of Missouri, Hunter D. Blattner of Missouri, and Dayne M. Blattner of Missouri; dearest brother of the late Bill E. Blattner and Albert W. Blattner Jr.; brother-in-law of Laverne H. Blum Blattner; and loving great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Jack was one of three sons born to Ruth G. Lightner Blattner and Albert W. Blattner in St. Louis on Feb.16, 1928. Jack and Lucille were married in May of 1951, nearly 68 years.

He served as a private in the U.S. Army during 1946 and 1947 in the Battery C 70th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion.

He was employed with Wagner Electric 30-plus years.

He was a fantastic father and had a wonderful way of balancing family, work and fun. Jack was an avid bowler and baseball player. He enjoyed playing cards, pitching horseshoes, fishing and hunting.

He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Wentzville, Missouri, for 40 years.

He wore many hats; there wasn't anything he couldn't do. He was the greatest father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. He was loved by all. He will be missed terribly.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway in Wentzville.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Church of Christ in Wentzville. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in O'Fallon

Donations may be made to Faith United Church of Christ, American Legion Post 312 or a charity of choice in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.
