Jack Adams
SIKESTON, Mo. -- F.G. "Jack" Adams, 83, of Sikeston died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born July 2, 1926, in Double Springs, Ala., to the late W.G. and Alma McDonald Adams. He first married Maxine Gage on Nov. 3, 1945. She died Dec. 23, 1988. He and Mary Eaton were married Aug. 17, 1990.
Adams was a truck driver 29 years with Potlatch Inc. in Sikeston. He previously drove transport trucks for Elfrink Trucking in Cape Girardeau and Reliable Transportation in Sikeston. He was a member of Miner Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis "Bud" Adams of Wappapello, Mo.; four daughters, Mary Frances Wrather of Sikeston, Linnie Adams of Cape Girardeau, Jackie McDonald of Tickfaw, La., Janis Adams of Sikeston; a brother; three sisters; two stepsons; a stepdaughter; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a number of stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
