Graveside service for Joel Gladys Britton of Cape Girardeau will be held at 3 p.m. today at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. James Sanderson will officiate.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 2-2:45 p.m.

Britton, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born April 25, 1910, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joel P. and Mary Jane Mabrey Nunn. She and James J. Britton were married in June 1945, in St. Louis. He died July 20, 1956.

Britton received a nursing degree from Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

She had been a registered nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Sally Virginia Johnson of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
