CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Ivory L. Kent, 72, of Charleston died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Armorel, Ark., daughter of Orange and Lueller Reed Riggin. She and Edward Kent were married in 1978. He died in 1997.
Kent was a member of Ollie Grove Baptist Church at Wilson City, Mo., served on the usher board, and was a member of Friendly Sisters.
Survivors include two stepsons, Edward Kent Jr. of Charleston, William Kent of Chicago; four stepdaughters, Jessie Boyce of Charleston, Ora Robinson of Joliet, Ill., Byrdella Johnson of Maywood, Ill., Canery Canada of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Rosie Johnson of Mounds, Ill., Mable Horton of Haines City, Fla., Mary Riggin of Charleston; 30 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a stepdaughter.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at Ollie Grove Church, with the Rev. Melvin Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
