ADVANCE, Mo. -- Ivan E. Coleman Sr., 66, of Advance passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 21, 1947, at Zadock, Mo., the son of Lora "Lee" and Lois Dunivan Coleman.
Ivan was a truck driver for Cherokee Candy and Tobacco in St. Louis. He was a member of Godseminy Baptist Church in St. Louis. He loved to hunt and fish and just tinker outside.
Ivan and Joyce Dicus were united in marriage May 2, 1963, in St. Louis, and she survives of the home.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Coleman of Advance; a son, Lee (Missy) Coleman of Potosi, Mo.; two daughters, Theresa (Timothy Sr.) Cantrell of Cadet, Mo., and Melissa (Tim Holder) Coleman of Advance; a sister, Jennie Eilers of Bell City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Alice May; a son, Ivan Coleman Jr.; and a brother, Jerry Coleman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Advance.
