Iva R. Ford, 80, of 1040 South Sprigg, died suddenly Sunday at her home following a period of failing health.

She was born Feb. 27, 1912 in Canalou to William and Minerva Crook Ausley. On Feb. 9, 1930, she married Elmer Ford in Cape Girardeau. He died April 7, 1988.

Surviving are sons Elmer Ford Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Bill L. Ford of Fenton; daughters Ruth Ann Ford of Cape Girardeau and Doris Keller of Cape Girardeau, Route 2; seventeen grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.

A son, daughter, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1928 from East Prairie and worked for 25 years at International Shoe Co. here. She was a member of Lynnwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Revs. Allen Reasons and Jim Matthews officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral chapel from 4 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
