Iva Estherline Matthews, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at The Lutheran Home.

She was born Feb. 24, 1909, in Stoddard County, Mo., daughter of John Albert and Ella Mae Crawford Quick.

Survivors include five sons, Danny Matthews and Larry Matthews of St. Louis, Boyd Matthews of Advance, Mo., Harold Matthews of Burfordville, Mo., and Lester Matthews of Fults, Ill.; a daughter, Helen Carr of Bonne Terre, Mo.; a sister, Rachel Edward Smith of Hazelwood, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance.
