Iva Rosalee Kuntze, beloved mother and grandmother, is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born March 25, 1918, and God blessed her with 100 years on Earth, until He called her home Friday, June 15, 2018.
She was the fifth of six children born to Ada and Mary Blaylock Masters of Sedgewickville, Missouri. Her young years were spent there, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
She was employed in shoe factories in several Missouri locales, including Jackson, Chaffee, Bonne Terre and Flat River, as a floor lady until 1938.
She married Albert William Kuntze in 1939, and they moved to California. After his death in 1974, Iva came back to Cape Girardeau.
She was a nursing assistant at Lutheran Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau and also for her brother, Dr. Edwin Masters, in Advance, Missouri. She did years of home nursing care and volunteering at Saint Francis Medical Center.
The most important things in her life were her faith in Christ and her family. She was a member of Cape First Assembly of God Church.
Iva leaves behind her three children, two sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law: daughter, Dorothy (Dean) Richardson of Thousand Oaks, California; son, Carl (Karen) Kuntze of Cape Girardeau; and daughter, Mary Ann (Ray) Comstock of Jackson.
Other survivors are seven grandchildren, Dr. David (Nadine) Richardson of Pasadena, California, Tammy (Kent) Jackson of Jackson, Dawn (Ron) Smith of Aliso Viejo, California, Tanya (Mike) Ratliff of Rock Island, Tennessee, Kevin Kuntze of St. Louis, Darla (Jeremy) Richardson of Ventura, California, and Keith Kuntze of Cape Girardeau; 11 great-grandchildren, Kaci Jackson, Darin Richardson, Abby Jackson, Alaina Jackson, Racheal Kuntze, Arden Richardson, Drake Smith, Mythias Kuntze, Danielle Smith, London Hoffman and Logan Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews.
Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Albert William Kuntze; parents; grandparents; four brothers, Everett, Edwin, Elbert and Loy; and one sister, Mabel.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will follow at noon Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Brothers officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be given to Cape First Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau.
