IVA A. ZAHNER

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Iva A. Zahner, 76, of Perryville, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 27, 1924, daughter of Edmond and Mary Verstringer Nobus. She and Norbert Zahner were married Sept. 12, 1943, in Florissant, Mo. He died April 8, 2001.

She was employed at International Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the VFW auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include five daughters, Marry Ann Miget, Shirley French, Bettie Garris, Kathy Clifton and Tina Hager, all of Perryville; one son, Ronald Zahner of Park Hills, Mo.; two sisters, Louise Kiefer of Dittmer, Mo., and Mary Duvall of Granite City, Ill.; one brother, Edward Nobus of Jackson, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Monday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers with the Daughters of Isabella will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
