HAYWOOD CITY -- Isiah "Man" Grayson, also known as "Spot," died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center, the result of a robbery and assault on Sept. 24, 1998. HAYWOOD CITY -- Isiah "Man" Grayson, also known as "Spot," died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center, the result of a robbery and assault on Sept. 24, 1998. He was 89 and a resident of Haywood City.

He was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Yazoo City, Miss., son of Henry and Lena Grayson and had lived in Missouri since 1940. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his wife, Essie M. Harris of Haywood City; four daughters, Lena Raby and Brenda Banks, both of Haywood City, Yolanda Turner of Sikeston and Regina Turner of St. Louis; a son, Lamont Turner of Sikeston; a foster son, Jerry "Mississippi" Spencer of Haywood City; three brothers, Henry Grayson Jr. of East St. Louis, Ill., Nile Grayson of Arkansas and Clarence Grayson of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Q.T. Grayson of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Williams-Farr & Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bell City Church of God in Christ, with Elder Elisha Pullen officiating.

Burial will be at the J.C. Pullen Memorial Cemetery at Bell City.
