Irvin E. Holderbaugh Sr., 66, of Jackson died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Sullivan, Ind., to Leroy Dale and Charlotte Batson Holderbaugh. He and Deloris A. Bellamy were married May 29, 1965, in Gary, Ind.
Irvin served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired as a chief petty officer after 20 years of service to his country.
He was a member of Royal Rangers, American Legion Post 178 in Jackson, First Assembly of God in Scott City, and scout leader with Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Deloris A. Holderbaugh of Jackson; two sons, Irvin E. Holderbaugh Jr. and Richard M. Holderbaugh of Jackson; a daughter, Juanita L. Holderbaugh of St. Louis; two brothers, Chuck Holderbaugh of La Porte, Ind., and Lynn D. Alley of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Rita Duncan of Hanna, Ind., and Tammy Smith of Carbondale, Ill.; five grandchildren, Victoria, Charlotte, Cordell, David and Shawn Holderbaugh; a great-grandchild and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, with Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park with full military rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
