Iris Simpson

ANNA, Ill. -- Iris K. "Kathy" Simpson, 69, of Anna died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at the home of a son, Jim Mount.

She was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Mound City, Ill., daughter of William and Mildred Utley Merideth.

Simpson was employed in food service at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Anna.

Survivors include two sons, Jim and John Mount of Anna; two sisters, Martha Wilson of Dearborn Heights, Mich., Ruby Slack of Cypress, Ill.; two brothers, Jackie Merideth of Cypress, Donald Merideth of Mt. Zion, Ill.; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

The funeral was held Monday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Tim Sadler officiating. Burial was in Anna Cemetery.
