IRENE YOUNT

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Irene Yount, 76, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Miner Nursing Center.

She was born Dec. 19, 1924, at Catron, Mo., daughter of John and Siner Moss. She and Elbert R. Yount were married July 4, 1944.

Yount worked in housekeeping at Missouri Delta Medical Center and for Shuffit Nursing Homes. She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Perry Yount of Bertrand, Mo., Robert Yount of St. Louis; two daughters, Brenda Hodges of Centralia, Ill., Janet Williams of Miner, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Hanback of Gaylord, Mich., Louise Hill of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, five sisters and a half brother.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Scott Foster and the Rev. Gaylon Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Yount Cemetery at Marquand, Mo.
