IRENE S. CRAIN

JACKSON -- Irene S. Crain, 95, of Jackson died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Feb. 13, 1901, in Millersville, daughter of Joel T. and Sarah Barks Hopkins. She married Ellis O. Crain on Oct. 11, 1922, and he died Sept. 30, 1995.

She was a member of Old Salem Methodist Church from 1922 until 1968, when she moved to Jackson and joined the New McKendree United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Dorcas Circle, United Methodist Women and Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two sons, Clemon Crain of Cape Girardeau and Carlton Crain of Jackson; a brother, Noah Hopkins of Jackson; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 10 siblings and a grandson.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Covington officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
