Irene Janet Mammon, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born July 20, 1914, at Egypt Mills, daughter of John Henry and Matilda Gerschwyler Mammon Jr.

Mammon was a 1932 graduate of Central High School, and a 1937 graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing in St. Louis.

She was a registered nurse 45 years. She was a staff nurse at St. Luke's Hospital three years, and worked in the pediatrics ward at St. Francis Medical Center 42 years, retiring in 1982.

Mammon was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, American Nurses Association, and Eighth District Missouri Nurses Association.

Survivors include a nephew, Donald Froemsdorf of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Delphia Froemsdorf of Bonne Terre, and Dolores Humphrey of Ventura, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. David Hintz will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
