OLIVE BRANCH, ILL. -- Irene Farris, 89, of Olive Branch, formerly of Miller City, died at 4:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Tamms, Ill., to William and Bertha Mae Brown Huffman.
Marion Farris and Bertha Irene Huffman were united in marriage Dec. 18, 1938.
Irene was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church, Pulaski/Alexander Home Extension and Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, Marion; two sons, Ronnie (Edna) Farris of Paducah, Ky. and Kenny (Penny) Farris of Wickliffe, Ky.; one daughter, Carol Ann Farris Cox of Henderson, Ky.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Huffman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
Funeral services for Irene Farris will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Verlee Eaker and Gene Hart officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.
