OLMSTED, Ill. -- Irene E. Bierbaum, 82, of Olmsted died Friday, Oct. 4, 1996, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Oct. 22, 1913, at Villa Ridge, daughter of John and Mattie Henderson Edwards.
She was employed as a meat cutter in grocery stores in Pulaski and Alexander counties before her retirement.
She married Joseph C. Bierbaum. He died in 1982.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, the Pulaski-County Farm Bureau and St. Mary's Sodality.
Survivors include two sons, Clayton Bierbaum of Mound City and Joseph K. Bierbaum of Olmsted; a daughter, Jerri Thurston of America, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City from 5-8 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayer service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City.
The Rev. Bill McGhee will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery in Mounds.
