DEXTER, Mo. -- Irene Fay Jenkins Balkenbush, 81, of Dexter died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at her home.
She was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Fairfield, Ill., daughter of John and Rosie Masterson Musgrave. She and George Edward Jenkins were married Jan. 19, 1940, at Dexter. He died Jan. 28, 1969.
Balkenbush lived at Dexter many years, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Jenkins of Dexter, Danny Jenkins of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, J.W. Musgrave of Dexter; four sisters, Rema Lang and Shirley Christman of Dexter, Jean Harper of Bloomfield, Mo., Melba Billsbrough of Swartz Creek, Mich.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Sheley officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
